7-8-2016: Severe Thunderstorm & Tornado Warned Storm in Bay County, Michigan

It’s only my 2nd summer in Michigan in 18 years since I moved to the West Coast and I had never seen anything quite like this up close and in person before, it was quite exciting and honestly a little scary at times, but it was awesome watching the storm roll in from the Saginaw Bay (like a vacuum) . I was alarmed as I heard the tornado sirens because usually when they issue ‘Severe Thunderstorm Warnings” or anything it doesn’t really hit us that hard here, but with this storm that wasn’t the case and we had a direct hit! Luckily no tornado hit my mom’s neighborhood and all was good and I had a chance to watch a really cool thunderstorm which is a special treat for me as I will be heading back to the boring West Coast soon. Strong winds, heavy rain, hail, thunder, and lightning….it was a good show!
